Am I talking rubbish again? I’m doing a lot of that lately.
It’s a deflection device. It’s when I stop talking altogether that the worrying
begins.
I sought solace in the incomparable Catherine Tate. I can usually
rely on her to make me think at least, if not laugh out loud. The following clip
is a monologue from The Valley Girl. I gather The Valley is in California, and the Valley
Girl is a sort of American version of our Essex Girl, with one difference. The
Valley Girl has standards at least, whereas the Essex Girl generally limits
herself to aspirations.

Gosh, she is hilarious. I hadn't heard of her and thought she was American from the sketch, then I watched the other very funny one you posted further down on the 'offensive translator'. I'll have to watch her show, is it BBC?
I think it was the BBC, but there isn't a current series running. What's annoying is that I never watched it because I never liked the clips they used to advertise it. It happens to me a lot. It seems the clips they think will most appeal to the greatest number of people are the ones which least appeal to me. I've missed a lot of good TV that way. There's plenty on YouTube, though.
I'll have to look into it. The problem with YouTube is that I get hooked on one video after another and can't get off again. I suppose that's the idea ;)
I have the same problem, but my bandwidth is only unrestricted between midnight and 8am, which leaves relatively little time. Maybe I should get really cool and do a YouTube all-nighter.
