Eva: Salutory Lady of Song.

I had an Eva Cassidy album playing while I was washing the car today, and the following track in particular reminded me that she could take somebody else’s song and lift it to a new and wholly more sublime level.

It also made me think that if you want to live a long life, you’d better make sure you’ve got plenty of flaws. It seems that the purest stars which shine the brightest also expire the soonest. Maybe that’s how it’s supposed to be. You can only show people what beauty is so many times, and then it’s up to them.
