Cute Counts.

I watched this short film, The Girl from the Future, a few nights ago, and then sent it to Mel because I thought she’d like it.

She did like it. She said it was ‘cute, although the future thing didn’t really work…’ Well, I can’t entirely disagree, but the point is this:

There are plot holes everywhere you look, especially in films involving time travel. (Even Sherlock Holmes stories have plot holes.) But plots are relatively unimportant. Plots just give you facts, whereas cuteness serves the abstract and illuminates the human condition.

So, yes: cute is what counts.
