The Oddness of Englishness.
There’s an advert on Youtube for the new Queen Elizabeth II £5
coin, which you can buy for just £5. Really? Only £5? That’s bizarre. But then
it goes on to say that it’s only legal tender in Guernsey…
erm… Guernsey? That’s even more bizarre. It’s
really no surprise that our language gained such common currency in the world,
is it?
