Singing of Escape.

It’s about time I posted another favourite song. This one was written by the incomparable Paul Brady, but is sung here by one of the most iconic of Irish women singers. It’s about the lunacy of the Troubles and the need to escape to the sanity of love. Political statement or romantic ballad? Take your pick.

It's a moving, intelligent song, and the line …still trying to carve tomorrow from a tombstone is worthy of the Great Bob himself.
