The Rock and the Hard Place.

There’s a line in the Bryan Ferry song Slave to Love that runs:

‘We’re too young to reason, too grown up to dream’

That’s sad, isn’t it? It could almost be seen as the perennial Romantic’s perennial problem (well, one of them.) And it’s almost as sad as another line from Old Man River.

‘I’m tired of living and scared of dying’

What a troublesome thing life is when you’re outside the tram lines (or even the spaceship I mentioned earlier.) Which one should I take as my mantra today?
