Mutual Respect.

Said the wasp to the bee
‘You’re more handsome than me,
And you don’t frighten people as much.’

‘Yes, I know,’ said the bee,
‘And I like being me,
But I lack your charisma as such.’

haha this is great!
We used to have wasps in our deck (not on, but IN) and they were pretty frightening. We still have them in our yard somewhere, but I still love reading outside in the summer. They never sting me, just hover around my lemonade.
What prompted this poem?

I've only ever been stung by a wasp once, and that was my fault. It was on my bare chest inside my shirt and I touched it before looking. My sympathies were with the wasp. I generally find that if I ignore them, they ignore me. I might be less relaxed about a swarm, of course.

Nothing prompted it. These little ditties leap into my head and recite themselves, then I write them down. Occasionaly they play games, though. They give me a start and I have to complete them. My ambition is to write one as long as yours. Unfortunately, it seems my muse has a short attention span.
