Disturbing the Peace.
It’s 2.20am and there’s a bloody helicopter circling low overhead. I suppose it’s probably the police, locating or tracking some ne’er-do-well. Its engine is very loud and it’s getting on my nerves. At the same time, I’m wondering what some ne’er-do-well is doing deep in the heart of the countryside at 2.20 in the morning.

Sounded a big crime scene. I haven't heard helicopter in that late night in my life.
It was most probably a police helicopter tracking an escaping burglar with infrared equipment, Mei-shan. If it had been following a stolen vehicle it wouldn't have been circling.
I hate that, too! But I guess they must have a good reason for it... or not, haha. Where I live, the cockatoos sare so noisy in the morning- as early as 4:30-5, when most people are still sleeping. Gets on my nerves too, especially when I'm super tired.
Wonder if it was the military and they were looking for a crashed UFO....
Hello, Lucy. Nice to see you again. I thought you'd finished with me and consigned me to the nether regions. We have a 'dawn chorus' here too, of course, but our birds are quieter and more melodic than cockatoos. Some people still complain about it, but I never hear it.
Odd you should say that, Jeanne. I've often had the feeling that there's going to be some UFO activity around here one of these days.
