Comedy TV.

Following hard on the heels of the girl who thinks she might be allergic to sperm, tonight’s offering was another ‘medical’ programme called Embarrassing Bodies. This one featured a woman whose nipples are in the wrong place. OK, I understand that this might cause some genuine consternation to the poor woman so afflicted, but I wonder whether the people who write the synopses for these programmes do so with a straight face.

There’s some bloody funny stuff on the TV at the moment. Pity the programmes that are supposed to be funny usually aren’t.

We now have a show in the states about people who have strange addictions, like eating chalk, eating the foam out of couch cushions, or playing out of doors while dressed up in fuzzy animal costumes. There was even one with a ventriloquist who won't go any where without one of her puppets or whatever they are called. She starts out conversations with people on her own but usually ends up speaking with someone exclusively through the use of her doll.

I used to eat plasticine as a kid (a form of play dough.) That was becuse I found the smell so fascinating. But then they took the lead out for H&S reasons, and it lost its characteristic smell, so I don't eat it any more. Now I'm vegetarian, which some people find even stranger.
