Finding My Wife.

I was married once. The marriage didn’t last all that long and we were divorced in 1988. We kept in touch for a while, but I’ve had no contact with her for about fifteen years.

Today, however, I remembered that it was the anniversary of our wedding. Out of curiosity, I googled various versions of her name and discovered that she became a prolific author of books on embroidery and cross stitch. She’d had a business designing and selling embroidery kits when I last knew her - I used to do the photography for the packaging. I never knew she’d written books, though, but I found seven of her titles on Amazon. And she’s still using my surname.

Well, blow me. The things you find on Google.

And here's the really strange bit. When I published this post, the 'Succesfully Published' page had an advert on it - for Free Cross Stitch! How weird is that?

I'm sorry for your divorce. Thankfully I haven't had to deal with that.
It's pretty funny that she's still using your surname though.

No problem with the divorce, Maria. I was ready for a change anyway. Always moving on - that's why I never married again. No point. And I suppose she either never married again either, or else she kept the name she was known by from the business. That's no problem to me. I always told her she should trade under her maiden name of Webster, which I thought was a much nicer name than Beazley, but she wouldn't have it.

I think I am a virtual stalker. I always google names of people I am curious about. (Every time I am jealous of someone. :D )

It's like addiction. I need a rehab to quit it completely. :D I googled myself and didn't find any nasty truth about myself exposed publicly. felt relieved. :D

Just dropping in to say hello! I haven't commented for quite a while. Reading your posts are very entertaining, I must say.

That is very ironic! Seeing an advertisement like that, haha :)

Better get that belly dancing started, Mei-shan, then you can have people stalking you for a change and you won't need the re-hab. On the other hand, you could always just call it natural curiosity.

Hello Jo, how nice to see you. Have you changed your blog address? It's unfamiliar. What I just read was very interesting, especially the bit about what seems 'more real.' I can't 'follow' because Google won't let me for some reason, but I'll be reading.

Yes, I did. My old blog seemed too commercial or somewhat superficial - I can't really explain it. Happy to have you reading. :)
