What follows are two statements copied and pasted from a publisher’s submission guidelines:
‘Authors have the responsibility to ensure that their submission is free from careless errors.’
‘We will only respond to authors with whom we have an interested (sic) in publishing.’
Since I never had a response to the novella I sent them back in April, I assume they are not interest in publishing it. Might I be permitted a sardonic smirk?
I did have another short story accepted last week though, for an anthology called Undiscovered to be published by a new small press outfit. I was pleased because it’s a favourite of mine and had been rejected many times.
