It seems that Russia’s ‘special military operation’ is
throwing up an interesting phenomenon – even the mega-rich who step out of line
over there are prone to falling out of 6th floor hospital windows,
or being found mysteriously dead along with their families in their Moscow
apartments or Spanish villas.
Maybe it’s all totally innocent, but it certainly has a whiff of the Roman or mediaeval or Renaissance Italian about it. Shakespeare would have a whole new fount of juicy material if he were still alive.
And maybe that’s why Mr Putin is ‘too busy’ to attend Gorbachev’s funeral. Maybe funerals are not a safe place for a tyrant to be – too public – because tyrants often get hoist by their own petard eventually. I’m guessing.
