Emasculating the Individual.

It seems to me that one of the problems of globalisation is that it makes the individual’s voice so much smaller and insignificant. When I first had a bank account I dealt at a personal level with people in my local branch. That branch might have had, say, 10,000 customers. If I have an issue with my present bank I have to deal with somebody in a call centre which might be almost anywhere in the world, and the person I’m talking to has a caller base of maybe a billion customers. I’ve gone from being an average sized fish in an average sized pond to a tiny minnow in a lake the size of Superior. What value my voice now?
