The present spell of darkness is proving persistent. (The
dream-that-wasn’t-a-dream in the early hours was truly disturbing.) And yet, in
spite of this dolorous state of mind, a chance encounter at twilight encouraged
me to offer a Once Upon a Time story by way of a rare blog post. I considered
it; I composed it in my head; I reasoned that it would make a good post; but I
let it go because there was one indisputable impediment: I had no right to make
it. It would inevitably have been soured with a whiff of the judgemental and it
might have caused offence, or at least disquiet, to a treasured individual.
I intend to make another post – assuming the light doesn’t lift in the meantime – next week on the anniversary of this blog.
Meanwhile, Miss Charlotte Brontë and her heroines, the Misses Helstone and Keelder, are proving to be most diverting company.
