An Aside and an Outcry.

Isn’t it strange how the mass of the population in the western world has gone from the probably delusional worship of a God to the certainly inane worship of the motor car? The TV ads promise that owning the right car is a sure way to heaven, and it seems people believe it. And I suppose that makes the advertising people latter day John the Baptists. Bring on the dancing girls to demand their heads, I say.

And I do wish the journalists working for the BBC text service would learn the difference between ‘compare with’ and ‘compare to.’ I know I’ve said it before, but they’re still doing it.

This represents a 15% increase compared to last year’s figure.

ARGHHH…!!!
